what I am..and I go back to it very often. I think I heard this story sometime in 5-6 std in school. Its a side story of Mahabharata. which i think btw is the greatest story ever told.
but lets get to the point and here is the story:
Both Yudishtara and Duryodhana are given a simple task. "Find a good and bad person". Simple enough.
Yudishtara comes back and says " I can't find any bad person."
Duryodhana comes back and says " I can't find any good person".
Moral of the story: You see in others what you are yourself.
That is if you are a bad person to begin with you only see the bad qualities in others and vice-versa. Ever since this story got etched in my young impressionable mind I have almost questioned myself every time before faulting others..... even when I completely do not agree with another person i sought of try and think why they feel the way they do. (psychoanalysis ? )
This said...I don't this is a good story to live ur life by:
1. every time some one antagonizes you...I have to first find fault in myself and then the other person ..paradoxical ?
2. in present era present scenario...you need to have the smarts to figure/judge people and treas cautiously.
So will i tell my son this story ? May be yes..may be not.
